'Laciniata' "Cut-Leaf Staghorn Sumac"
A very exotic and tropical looking shrub but actually a North American native species, growing to about 12’ tall and 15 -20’ wide. Mid-green deeply cut large serrated leaves atop long gracefully curved, open branches. Early to mid-summer spikes of yellow flowers, followed by velvety crimson seed heads that hold on well into winter. Outstanding fall color of burning orange and brilliant red. We have ours under-planted with Amsonia hubrichtii for a stellar autumnal performance. Does well in moist areas in full sun. Does sucker from roots and will form large clumps, great for naturalizing.
Hardy in Zones 4 to 9.
