Aptly named the “Crocodile plant”. Growing to a height of 2-3 feet in one season Acanthus montanus makes a great vertical accent providing lots of texture. Foot long puckered, spiny leaves pointing out from all sides of the central stem give it a very bold and coarse effect. If brought in for the winter they will bloom with huge white spires tinged pink. Grow in sun to part shade in well draining soil.
