A jewel of a fern, producing colorful new fronds in shades of bronze and pink with a striking rosy-red midrib. As the fronds mature they become deep green with creamy-white centers, so plants often display several colors at once. Native from Assam through southwestern China and Myanmar, this elegant fern prefers bright filtered light, high humidity and moist, well-drained soil. Excellent for shaded combination planters where its fine texture and unusual coloring contrast beautifully with begonias and broad-leaved tropicals. A tender perennial that makes a good houseplant.
