A tall, graceful strain of French marigold developed by Christopher Lloyd through the 1980s at the famous Great Dixter garden in England. Growing 2–3' tall, ‘Cinnabar’ produces single, velvety, deep rusty-red to toffee-red flowers edged with a fine gold-orange margin. Wonderful weaving through summer plantings where its loose habit provides movement rather than a solid block of color. Full sun and well-drained soil. An ordinary marigold it most certainly is not.
