TAGETES tenuifolia
'Red Gem' Red Signet Marigold

A charming little marigold with masses of small, single red-orange flowers with golden-yellow centers held over finely cut, aromatic foliage. Compact and bushy at about 10–12", ‘Red Gem’ is an excellent filler for sunny combination planters. The flowers are edible and the foliage has the characteristic citrus fragrance of the Gem marigolds. Full sun, good drainage and regular moisture will keep it flowering through summer. Small flowers, but lots of them—it believes in strength in numbers!
